QUICK RESPONSE TEAM
The Air-Source International Quick
Response Team was developed to address the need for a cost effective and
efficient delivery method for small mechanical construction installations. As
opposed to larger projects a single Project Manager is assigned to provide
estimating, installation and management for small projects.
Journeymen assigned to the team are equipped with vans and tools necessary to
begin working immediately when they arrive at a project. This reduces the
mobilization time and costs, which in turn aids in reducing the overall project
cost to the customer.
Basic Guidelines for Quick Response jobs:
- Contract Amounts up to $300,000
- Duration is less than six months
- Manpower - two journeymen per trade (piping, plumbing, sheetmetal, hvac)

These features of the Quick Response Team concept make this an attractive
option to building owners and managers:
- Air-Source International Quick
Response team is often called on to provide services for buildings where they
installed the HVAC systems and controls and/or plumbing.
- Air-Source International Quick
Response team has design/build personnel as permanent members of the team.
The majority of Quick Response projects are design/build. The design/build
delivery system allows construction to begin while design is still underway.
Projects are completed in a shorter time frame, allowing the owner to realize
a quicker return on his investment. The Quick Response team is supported by
the in-house engineering staff, providing the manpower and experience to
provide the highest quality design in a condensed period.
- Air-Source International Quick
Response team members form relationships with clients who have a
frequent need for this type of work. Some project managers and field
personnel are permanently assigned to a facility which has an ongoing
inventory of small sized-projects, allowing them to focus solely on the needs
of one customer. Quick Response field personnel must have good interpersonal
skills and be adept at communicating with owners/customers.
- Field personnel - pipefitters, sheet metal, hvac workers and plumbers -
are hand selected for the Quick Response team. Quick Response team members may
work on two, or even three different jobs in one day. They adapt well to new
circumstances and are comfortable moving from one job to another. They have an
average of 10 years of previous experience on major construction projects, and
bring widespread knowledge and diverse experience to the team.
- A labor coordinator organizes and assigns all trades to work on the most
appropriate Quick Response projects for each individual's skills and
experience.
- A single source for smaller jobs with a demanding turnaround time Due to
the owner's need for quick turnaround, most Quick Response jobs are negotiated
rather than competitively bid. Familiarity with this type of fast track work
makes these project managers particularly skilled at quickly assembling a hard
dollar or guaranteed maximum price. Then the same project manager handles the
set up, running and billing of the job.
- Mobilization and demobilization are minimized.
20 jobber trucks allow Quick Response technicians to carry the tools they need
onto the job site, enabling them to begin work immediately upon arrival.
Prime prospects for this service include building owners and managers, real
estate property managers, small industrial contractors and interior contractors.
